Make One Design Great Again !

Look who is making One Design great again! Last month, while competing at the Flying Scot Nationals in Sandusky, Ohio, John Wake sailed as crew for John Aras of Annapolis. They ended the regatta in an astonishing fifth position. Meanwhile, at the same event with 68 boats competing, husband and wife team, Len and Barb Guenther, finished in twelfth spot. Well done team FBYC! It looks like One Design is already great!
On another note, more recently, a number of sailors have been concerned about boats rushing in to the mark roundings at the last second and hacking into boats. This Rushin’ Hacking, as it is called, is of grave concern and threatens the foundation of our program. For this reason a Special Counselor, John Wake, is being appointed to investigate Rushin’ Hacking. Flying Scotocrats welcomed Wake to this position citing his unblemished integrity and vast experience. FrontRunnericans, while positive about the appointment, were quick to point out his obvious conflict of interest being a Flying Scotocrat. Only time will tell how this will work out. It is difficult to tell where these types of investigations will lead. Never the less, following each race John will meet with the racers during the social time and offer his counsel.
So, no need to worry about Rushin’ Hacking. Come on out and race with us this Saturday, July 15th, in the Caribbean themed Summer Breeze Race. Racing starts at 1pm. We look forward to spirited afternoon of racing with PRO Mike Dale followed by a festive social sponsored by the Lumsdens and featuring our Special Counselor.
