Mathews Yacht Club is having an event on Saturday morning, October 3, 2009, and wishes to invite you and your members at Fishing Bay Yacht Club to join us. NOTE: SAME DAY AS FBYC'S INDIAN SUMMER REGATTA
I am attaching two flyers for your information and ask that you please share them with your members. Bob and Sandy Warren are coordinating the paddle event and I, along with our manager Suzette Edwards, am working on the nautical yard sale. Please contact any of us if you need additional information or to make reservations.

MATHEWS YACHT CLUB AUTUMN PADDLE AND PICNIC
Saturday, October 3, 2009
9:30 AM at Mathews Yacht Club in Redart.
This event is for human-powered craft kayaks, canoes, standing boards,
row boats, etc.
Launching will be at the yacht club. Paddling will be on Stutts Creek, Morris Creek, and other side creeks. There will be three paddle groups: Experienced, Intermediate, and Novice. The Experienced group will paddle to one of the islands at Hole in the Wall.
A picnic lunch will be served at the club from Noon-1:30.
Registration fee: $12.00 per person, to be paid the day of the paddle. Includes lunch and bottled water.
Participants must register by Wednesday, September 30 by contacting

Kayaks may be rented from Bay Trails Outfitters by calling them directly at 725-0626. Tell them you will be at the Mathews Yacht Club Paddle Event.
All participants must wear life preservers.
If it is raining or too windy, the event will be cancelled.

8:30 am till Noon
Its been a while since we had a yard sale and many of you may have accumulated some nautical treasures that you no longer need. These unwanted items may be exactly what some of your fellow members have been searching high and low for. Therefore, we re having a yard sale and inviting everyone to participate. Clean all of those unwanted items out your garages and dock boxes and put some cash in your pocket.
You may reserve a table by calling our fleet captain, John Caperton, at 725-7267 or our manager, Suzette at 725-3165. We are also having the Kayak and Paddle Powered Craft Picnic that morning so we have invited paddlers from Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club, Wilton Creek Cruising Club, Fishing Bay Yacht Club and LIPPS to participate.

In Mathews take Route 198, Buckley Hall Road to Hudgins (Donks Theater, Zooms, Mathews Baptist Church).
At Hudgins, turn east on Rt. 223, Cricket Hill Road which is between Zooms and Donks.
Go about 1 ¼ mile on Cricket Hill Road. Turn right on Route 639, Crabneck Road, toward Redart.
On Crabneck Road you will pass Oak Point Road on the right. The next road on the right is Yacht Club Road, Route 696. Turn right and go to the end. Turn right, into the parking lot.
Please send the following "addendum" to your members:
In the short time since we sent the invitations to the four clubs, there is a change that we just found out about:
1. A wedding is scheduled at the club that Saturday at 2:00 , so lunch has been changed to 11:30 - 12:30, and we are encouraged to leave the club by 1:00.
2. People should RSVP to Fleet Captain John Caperton or Club Manager Suzette Edwards.
