NYYC Invitational Cup features 4 FBYC members on 2 yachts

Next Wednesday, September 16th, is the first day of racing for all competitors in the
NYYC Invitational Cup,
sponsored by Rolex, Sperry Top-Sider and Nautors Swan. Beginning at 1100, 19 amateur teams from 14 countries will cross the starting line in NYYC Swan 42s, and many months of preparation will come to fruition as this exciting event gets underway.
Harbour Court will see plenty of action on and off the water, and NYYC members have been invited to enjoy watching the teams racing from spectator boats that have been generously provided by fellow members. In addition, members are invited to join in the social activities that are planned throughout the week.
Pictured at the top left is Phil Lotz and his NYYC Swan 42 Arethusa who will represent the NYYC in the inaugural Invitational Cup. Listed as the Bowman on Arethusa is FBYC member Blake Kimbrough.
The Royal Danish Yacht Club is also entered in the Regatta. On that boat, the Skipper is FBYC Member Marie Klok Crump. Her husband, Will Crump is listed as Tactician, and FBYC Member Rives Potts is one of the two Headsail Trimmers.
Past Commodore Bev Crump and his wife Susan will be on the water in Newport in Will and Marie's motorboat Whiskey Tango Foxtrot next Thursday and Friday to support and cheer on the racers.
