LEARNING MATH & SCIENCE THROUGH SAILING INITIATIVE
- 134 9th Grade Anne Arundel County School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) students participate in Project Base Learning Module during the Spring semester; includes a site visit to NSHOF for sailing and the U.S. Naval Academy Towing Tank
- 40 Anne Arundel County School STEM Summer Bridge students participate in two, two week programs of classroom and sailing activities at the NSHOF.
- 20 Box of Rain campers participate in a one day classroom activity at the NSHOF.
- A National Learning Math & Science Through Sailing Consortium has been organized with 45 organizations around the country. A Consortium Workshop is planned for October at the U>S Naval Academy Crown Sailing Center during the Annapolis Boat Show.
- Discussions are underway for a potential partnership with Discovery Communication
- A navigation class has been organized for middle school students.
- A team is developing software that will permit the design and sailing of a virtual sailboat tied to the math and science curriculum being developed.

BULL and BEAR Sailing
- In cooperation with BULL and BEAR Sailing, the replica 1860's sandbaggers BULL and BEAR have been on display since May 22 at the Sailing Center and have hosted over 125 people for sailing-75% of whom never sailed before

- In cooperation with the Chesapeake Yacht Racing Association, Annapolis Race Week will be staged at Annapolis City Dock and the NSHOF Sailing Center. September 3-5

- In cooperation with the Chesapeake Traditional Sailing Association, the Second Annual Classic Sailboat Rendezvous and Race will held September 18 & 19 at the Sailing Center; September 1 & 18

- The Center has been established as an information hub, idea forum and testing lab where new developments in equipment design can be introduced, evaluated and tested.
