Starting Sequence for 2001 will not Change

A small committee met last night and decided not to adopt the new Section 26 rules changing how the race committee starts races. Instead we will write our instructions this year to proscribe starts using the familiar red, Blue shapes,etc on the 5 minutes sequences. There is another new rule this year
that requires that all crew on boats be members of recognized yacht clubs. We can not change that rule, however we will add language to our sailing instructions that say in effect - no competitor may protest another boat for failure to follow the new rule about crew being club members.
