I could not be more pleased with the launch of our new registration system. Over the last 25 days it has been offered as the preferred option and it has processed 60 successful registrations. Those registrations have included 35 credit card charges. We have not received a single inbound call or email about any substantial issue and 100% of actual payments made were processed without any error. This perpetual award was first presented in 1981 by Commodore Beverly L. Crump. It is awarded to the Fishing Bay Yacht Club member skipper of a yacht or yachts enrolled in the Club Register, who have most successfully represented FBYC in sailboat racing events conducted by other yacht clubs or associations during the past year. This year the awards were started off with a special award for Achievement in International Junior Competition. This award is to recognize an FBYC Junior who not only qualified for Team USA, but finished 5th overall in the 2018 Optimist World Championship in Cypress. This sailor is the first junior from our club to reach this top level of competition and we are glad to recognize Tommy Sitzman with this award.

I am completely amazed how rich the "Corinthian spirit" has been at our club and how many members are volunteering for our upcoming two day regatta. After a year of being bound by a computer our kids finally have the opportunity to be on the water again to represent our amazing sailing program and club. We are hosting the Virginia State Championship which is also the season opener for CBYRA. With registration open for about a month we have been successfully amassing an army of volunteers to serve over 100 sailors along with their family and friends. As far as the eye can see will be an armada of kids geared and ready to give it their all June 26-27th …
