We wrapped up another successful Crew Training class with 38 participants taking part. Be on the lookout for them and invite them for a sail.

20150331-002FBYC is again offering their popular Crew Training Program with classes starting in March.  This program was started over 25 years ago and has been introducing sailors to the sport and to FBYC ever since.  For anyone looking to learn the basics of sailing, or get into racing, or improve their skills - this is the class.  The class consists of 3 evening classes in Richmond and 2 optional on the water practice days at FBYC.

Classroom instruction is provided by FBYC racing skippers and crew with experience in local, national and international racing and participants are given written materials to compliment the classroom sessions.

32 participants started Crew Training last night with sessions led by George Burke, Jerry Latell and Bob Fleck covering the parts of a boat, what makes a boat go and safety.  Class continues next Tuesday with the hands on demonstrations.

FBYC Junior Regatta/Virginia Commonwealth's Cup June 26, 27th

I am completely amazed how rich the "Corinthian spirit" has been at our club and how many members are volunteering for our upcoming two day regatta.  After a year of being bound by a computer our kids finally have the opportunity to be on the water again to represent our amazing sailing program and club.  We are hosting the Virginia State Championship which is also the season opener for CBYRA.  With registration open for about a month we have been successfully amassing an army of volunteers to serve over 100 sailors along with their family and friends.  As far as the eye can see will be an armada of kids geared and ready to give it their all June 26-27th …
