FBYC had the largest contingent of boats racing in the 66th Down the Bay Race starting Friday in Annapolis and ending a day later in Hampton.  Spread across the 4 fleets were 6 FBYC boats who enjoyed a relatively uneventful mostly jib reach down the bay.

The 2013 Down The Bay Race was one for the record books.  It was an epic downwind race that smashed the 30-year old record.  FBYC boats taking part included Excitation, Nanuq, Mad Hatter, Wind Dancer & Schiehallion.


Bob Fleck's Mad Hatter won the PHRF-B division and finished 8th overall.  Brad Miller's Schiehallion finished 2nd in PHRF-C and was 12th overall.  Glen Doncaster's  Nanuq was 3rd in A2 and 13th overall. Complete Results.

I am completely amazed how rich the "Corinthian spirit" has been at our club and how many members are volunteering for our upcoming two day regatta.  After a year of being bound by a computer our kids finally have the opportunity to be on the water again to represent our amazing sailing program and club.  We are hosting the Virginia State Championship which is also the season opener for CBYRA.  With registration open for about a month we have been successfully amassing an army of volunteers to serve over 100 sailors along with their family and friends.  As far as the eye can see will be an armada of kids geared and ready to give it their all June 26-27th …
