This past winter, PHRF delegates from each club voted and instructed the PHRF Handicappers Board to issue 2017 PHRF ChesBay certificates with ratings for Windward/Leeward and for Circular Random (Random Leg) formats. You will notice on your certificate that there are two ratings: RATING (Spin/NonSpin) and CR Course RATING (Spin/NonSpin).
Fishing Bay amended its online registration to require an entry for each format, and for each rating (4 numbers) in ###/### format, matching the PHRF certificate. 2016 certificates were issued with both ratings, but the actual CR (random leg) rating may be amended for the 2017 certificates based on the handicappers' work during the off-season.
The Opening Day event is now open for registration. …
The PRO for tomorrows race has determined, and I completely agree, that it would be unsafe to race tomorrow. We have 2 problems with the conditions for racing.
First is the bad weather, which most models have predicted winds close to 30 MPH with higher gusts- rain squalls- temps around 45.
Second Mr Roberts is not fully commissioned (due to launch this AM).
The Opening Day Blessing of the Fleet and Party will both be inside the Club House. Both training sessions on Sunday are also cancelled.
Did you know that there are two ways to kick off the sailing season? The first, of course, is to go sailing! The second (but not by much) is to sign up for an Opening Day volunteer shift. We need help with guest check-in, bar shifts, and clean up crew.
Are you new to the club or just want to meet more people? Sign up for a shift and mingle all night. What better way to get people to come to you? Want to build the intimidation factor with a friendly show of force? Then get your sailing team together with their team gear and work a shift or two - show everyone that you mean business this year!
Hello FBYC members and friends, we are so glad that Opening Day is finally here! We would like to invite everyone to Opening Day and the Blessing of the Fleet on Saturday, April 9th. As always, we will kick off the year with the annual Opening Day race (first warning at 1100). The evening festivities will include cocktails at Ric's Place starting at 5 PM with the Blessing starting around 5:30 PM. Dinner is at 6 PM sharp. Once again we will have live entertainment with members of the Crain Brothers Band performing at 6:30 PM playing a diverse mix of good music.

The season starts on Saturday! The current forecast is partly sunny – temperature: 74 degrees – wind: 13 mph! Come celebrate the One-Design opening of Fishing Bay’s 75th year. Don’t forget to register.
We had a beautiful Opening Day with nice weather, good racing and a fun time had by all. The racing was either a 12nm course or a 8nm course out to the entrance of the Rappahannock River and back.
Due to the distribution delay regarding the Sailing Events books, we are providing links to the 2014 NORs and Sailing Instructions. We will also provide printed copies as needed Saturday and Sunday. We will post a courtesy announcement to this effect on the official notice board below Fannie's porch. Please spread the word especially to racers who do not originate at club slips and require this information.
This is our 75th Anniversary! Help us start the year with style, great fun, true fellowship, and camaraderie.
Please, mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12, beginning at 5 PM with the Blessing of the Fleet. We will have food, refreshment, music and some fun historical elements to harken back to earlier times, in celebration of our 75th anniversary.
If you have recently joined the Club, this is a great time to meet fellow sailors. Come with your most impressive yachting blazers and bling, or as you are. Every club member and their guests are not just welcome, but strongly encouraged to come …

FBYC Spring Series opened yesterday with twenty-two (22) boats in two races. This Saturday, April 13th, there will be an Offshore meeting in preparation for the 2013 FBYC Racing Series. This meeting will occur at 4 PM in Fannie's House after the Opening Day medium distance race and prior to the Blessing of the Fleet. The meeting will end promptly at 4:45 PM to allow time for folks to migrate to the Blessing. If for some reason the Opening Day race is not complete prior to 4 PM, an alternate time for this meeting will be established and posted on Fannie's door.
The goal for this meeting is to provide a forum for skippers and to share their thoughts on relevant topics related to club …

I am completely amazed how rich the "Corinthian spirit" has been at our club and how many members are volunteering for our upcoming two day regatta. After a year of being bound by a computer our kids finally have the opportunity to be on the water again to represent our amazing sailing program and club. We are hosting the Virginia State Championship which is also the season opener for CBYRA. With registration open for about a month we have been successfully amassing an army of volunteers to serve over 100 sailors along with their family and friends. As far as the eye can see will be an armada of kids geared and ready to give it their all June 26-27th …
