The YAMs rocked the house on Sunday evening after racing in an incredibly well attended Cornhole tournament!
12 Teams competed for the ultimate bragging rights, and when all was said and done we had three podium finishing teams with a mix of FBYC members and visitors from other clubs. Congratulations to our FBYC member victors as follows:
First Place: Stuart Kegan & Friend
Second Place: Tommy Roper & Friend
Third Place: Mile Kimbrough & Arch Durham
BIG Thanks to our contributing YAM committee organizers for making this a great success (Abigail & Massey Whorley and Jon Deutsch)
Who will take the podium as Fishing Bay's first ever Cornhole Championship Team??
This coming Sunday, immediately following Stingray Point Light racing and regatta awards, the YAMs are inviting anyone interested in informally strutting their cornhole skills to compete in the first every FBYC Cornhole Tournament. This is an excellent compliment to the BYO informal cookout Sunday evening after racing.
Boards, awards and tournament facilitation will be provided by the Young Adult Members committee. Hosted on the FBYC lawn, all you need to bring is your own beverages, a smile, and semi-competitive spirit to join in the fun. Actual start time will depend on conclusion of regatta awards.
The Young Adult Member group at FBYC kicked off the Memorial Day weekend on Friday night with a cookout. The night featured the usuall grillings and a bunch of YAMs kicking back by the water, enjoying the beautiful weather while playing giant jenga and drinking lemonade made from hose water. Big thanks to Jon, Massey, Katie and all of the other folks who helped make it happen!
The YAMs had an epic inaugural derby day picnic this past Saturday, entertaining 35+ attendees of all ages ranging from 1 to 50+. Sporting dapper pastels and big dazzling hats, the YAMs began assembling at 1pm in the club’s upstairs for a roaring day of good friends, classy tunes and some good ‘ol fashioned horse races.
Overall the day was highlighted by delicious dishes, tasty signature cocktails, a build-your-own derby hat & sash station, and a compliment of lawn & table games for the kids. Besides the general merriment of the group as a whole, it was clear that everyone is excited to be welcoming warmer weather for the summer sailing season.
