Membership in USSA, the US Sailing Association, offers a choice of a current Rule Book or a copy of Safety Recommendations for Cruising Boats. Details on membership, including the annual cost can be found on www.ussailing.org. Along with a membership card applicants usually receive a credit of $25 or more for purchases at West Marine, and a discount on registration fees at most regattas. Both the December Log and the December 13 issue of Southern Bay Racing News you can use that is posted each week on the club web site contain information on Rules Seminars that are being sponsored by clubs on the Southern Bay early in 2005. You can also buy a Rule Book from US Sailing without joining the Association, but with or without the membership it is good practice to have a rule book if you plan to race.
