VIMS First Annual Raft Up Rendezuous at FBYC May 8-9, 2004
Sunday April 4, 2004 12:49PM
onVIMS (Va. Institute of Marine Science) will host a Raft Up Rendezvous at our club on May 8-9. VIMS mission is to provide research, education, and advisory service to promote sustainability of marine resources in Virginia and the world. Boaters, too, are interested in sustaining these resources that are so important to the quality of life on and around Virgina's waters. Join us at the Raft Up to learn more about VIMS and meet other boaters who share an interest in the marine enviroment.
We need volunteers to help with this event. Please click Read More... to learn more about this event and how you can help. FBYC is the host of this event, which appears to be growing into a significant gathering in terms of participants. We will need to have volunteers to help with this undertaking to ensure that all goes well for both VIMS and our club. Please consider volunteering by contacting Tony Sakowski, or at 804-285-3347.
The schedule includes educational exhibits, dinner, entertainment on Saturday, and a breakfast on Sunday. There is no fee for the activities, but you must register by going to www.vims.edu/events, and contacting me on my email address as to how many of you are coming; please volunteer to help park cars, provide security, help with activities on the dock, or any other need that might arise.
