Welcome to the Laser Atlantic Coast Championship
Wednesday May 13, 2015 10:53PM
onWelcome to the Laser Atlantic Coast Championship at Fishing Bay Yacht Club this weekend! We've got 47 confirmed boats and are expecting a few more, nice weather, great food and good competition. And we want to thank our great team of volunteers who have assembled to make this happen. As you make your way to Deltaville, here are a few things you should know:
SCHEDULE
We have an EARLY start scheduled on Saturday - please note the 0915 skippers meeting and 1030 first warning. We want to make the most of the day and may even choose to sail on the outside course to get the best conditions - so please arrive early and be ready to sail shortly after the skippers meeting.
PARKING
Anyone arriving on Friday is more than welcome to go for a sail. Please park boats either in the 'Laser Coral' directly in front of the main club-house, or in the field directly adjacent to the pool. Please park cars around the outside of the Laser Coral (bow in, not parallel) or in front of the Flying Scots (we have permission to block them unless there's a cone there). please DO NOT parallel park along any of the roadways in particular the area just in front of the rigging field. After you've unloaded your boat, please move your car in front a Flying Scot or to another parking area.
Trailer parking for the larger Laser trailers or coach/spectator boat trailers - these trailers can be parked for the weekend in the 'dry sail' area by the hoist on the north west side of the property.
REGISTRATION & CHECK IN
Please help us keep things running smoothly by checking in as soon as you are parked and settled, but before rigging your boat. Registration and check in will be open Friday from 1600-1800 and from 8am to 9am Saturday morning. If you have pre-registered you still will need to check in. SIs, Dinner tickets & hats will be distributed at check-in. Additional lunches and dinners are still available and can be purchased at check in - check/credit preferred.

LAUNCHING
There are two launching ramps. The first is the concrete ramp between the club and the pool. The other is the grass ramp on the east side of the property. At the bottom of both is a beach for leaving dollies, etc while we are sailing. Hoses for wash down are located near the junior shed at the top of the grass ramp, and between the rows of trailer parked boats.
Launching spectator or coach boats must be done before 0900 on Saturday or after the last Laser has launched around 1000. You are welcome to retrieve the boat after all sailors have come in at the end of the day or you may dock overnight on the Fishing Bay Dock. Note this dock is exposed in a south wind and may not be advisable to leave boats overnight in certain conditions.
BREAKFAST
We will have breakfast available both Saturday and Sunday morning at the club starting around 7:45am. It will consist of breakfast egg casserole, bagels, muffins, coffee, juice, and assorted other items.
LUNCH
Many of you have ordered sandwiches - you must pick these up between 8am and 9am near the front door outside of the main clubhouse. More are available and can be bought at check-in.
DINNER
Please be in the clubhouse by 6pm for dinner. At that time snacks, drinks and o'dourves will be served. Dinner will be served as short time later as soon as it is ready. Water, soft drinks, beer and wine(21+) will be available and are included in the dinner.
WATER
Each of our RC boats (but not the judge boats) will have water for competitors and trash bags for anything needing to be discarded.
WEATHER
Looks like we're going to have some great weather for this weekend - Clear on Saturday with temperatures in the mid 80's and 8-10 knot winds.

GEAR
Please support our sponsors Dynamic Dollies and APS - items from them will be raffled off to competitors during dinner (must be present to win).
White Tail is a local retailer of Rooster gear and products and they will have a table set up in front of the main club house Saturday morning to fill any rooster apparel needs.
UPDATES
Throughout the regatta we'll be posting updates on the @LaserACC twitter feed - tell your friends to follow along and look for updates and possibly some live video reports. Nightly results and recaps will be posted on www.fbyc.net. We'll also have a photographer (not Jon - he's racing!!) capturing those special moments and look for those posted online next week.
That's about it. I should be around the club around 3pm on Friday. If you have any questions I prefer email jon@jdeutsch.com and will have access to it throughout the weekend. I can also be reached by phone or text message at 804-305-1244
Please drive safely and see you this weekend!
