Southern Chesapeake Bay Leukemia Cup Regatta at the Fishing Bay Yacht Club, July 10-12,  June 30 deadline for early registration is fast approaching.  Lock into the discount now by registering early at www.fbyc.net and have your boat's name imprinted on the official Regatta T-shirt.  Registrations after June 30 will be accepted through July 9, 1800 hours - save money - DO IT NOW!  Info on the regatta, entry requirements, etc. all available at www.fbyc.net
 
Mobjack Nationals Reach 50th Anniversary!  The International Mobjack Class will hold it's National Championship Regatta  August 21-23 at Ware River Yacht Club.  This will mark the 50th anniversary of  of the event.  This, of course, will be a wing-dinger event with all the trimmings.  If you have ever loved a Mobjack, or think you might, you need to be at this gathering on the Ware River.  For info contact Tom Roberts at (804) 843-2682 or email him at  Mobjack451@cox.net  
BRIEF COCK ISLAND RACE WRAP-UP!  The race to Cock Island, aka Portsmouth, had eighty-two (82) boats on the starting line, reported wind from 5 to 8 knots and dodged, we hear, any of the  thunderstorms that skittered around the area.  Here are the Fleet Winners:  PHRF A (4 boats): Bob Mosby, CYRANO;  PHRF B (11 boats): Mitch Doughtie, OLD SCHOOL;  PHRF C (6 boats): Steve Bowen, DREAM ON;  PHRF NS-1 (13 boats): Sonny Smith, RESTLESS;  PHRF NS-2 (6 boats): Frank Stewart, OBSESSION.  Winners of the 4 Cruising Fleets were:  SOLAS, ZING, CELERITY; and NO PROBLEM.  PRO - Larry Bryant.  For a detailed report on the finishes, please contact Larry  Bryant or check at the event website (Portsmouth Boat Club or City of Portsmouth).
 
THE EXECUTIVE CUP - Saturday, June 27 - sponsored by Christopher Newport Sailing Foundation to support the Euclid Hanbury Sailing Team of Christopher Newport University.    The deadline for entries is THIS Thursday, June 25.   Entry fee is $45 for US Sailing members; $55 for non-members.  Entries and fees should be sent to Jim White, 261 Ashridge Lane, Newport News, VA 23602.  Starts are offered for all PHRF fleets and for a special non-spinnaker class for which the race committee will assign courtesy ratings.  Skippers Meeting will be held at 2:30pm at Hampton Yacht Club.  Warning gun for the first class will be at 3:30pm.
 
If you missed the ESPNU presentation of the 2009 Gill National College Sailing Championship (presented by Rolex), it will RE-AIR on the following dates:  Wednesday, July 1 at 3:00am    Thursday, July 2 at 7:00pm   Friday, July 3 at 2:00pm   Friday, July 3 at 8:00pm Thursday, July 9 at 7:00pm   Friday, July 10 at 3:00am  *all times Eastern    Not to spoil it for you,  but... it all came down to Yale and St. Mary's within 3 points of one another on the final day.  All 36 races took place off the St. Francis Yacht Club, San Francisco.
