The JOs will be held on June 27 & 28, immediately following Junior Week; and are a perfect cap to Junior Week!

The Junior Olympics are sponsored by the US Olympic Committee and US Sailing, and are intended to develop the talents of future Olympians. We will host all junior classes at this regatta, including the 420, Laser Radial and Full, and Opti Red, White and Blue. All of our 2015 Race Teams will compete, and will be joined by teams from New Jersey, New York and North Carolina, as well as from around the Bay. All FBYC juniors are encouraged to sail, and kids do not have to be a member of one of our race teams!
We will also have a Green Fleet with its own course in Fishing Bay for beginning and novice Opti racers; and a special Green Fleet Clinic, which will include before and after race “chalk-talks” and on-the-water coaching by our professional coaching staff. This is a wonderful opportunity for your sailor to break into Opti racing in a friendly, supportive setting! We will not keep overall Green Fleet scores, and all Green Fleet participants will receive a participation medal from the United States Optimist Dinghy Association. Any sailor who has completed any Junior Week class, including Beginner, Advanced Beginner, all Intermediate Classes, Beginning Laser and the 420 Class, will be ready to participate in this regatta, and all are invited! Club boats will be available. We will allow those from the Beginner Class to sail two to an Opti in the Green Fleet. This will also be the first regatta for many of our first-year Opti Development Team members.
Saturday after racing everyone is invited to a pool party and a taco bar. Sunday after racing we will have ice cream and our favorite teen rock band, Zig Zag, performing before the awards presentation!
