Thank Yous and Compliments from ACC participants

Noel Clinard on Wednesday October 13, 2004 11:50AM

All the members should know that I have received numerous thank you notes and compliments for last weekend's event. The notes really need to be shared with the membership as they reflect the good work by many, many people over a long period of time.

Many of the notes and comments are listed below. Others may add comments by clicking Reply at the bottom of Read More.

From the president of USODA - whose wife came with a child

On behalf of the USODA, I want to take this opportunity to thank you, the Flag, and all of the volunteer members of Fishing Bay YC for producing a fine USODA Championship.

Colette was very impressed by the registration staff when she arrived at 9:15 PM and they were packing up at the West Marine. She knew well that the deadline was 9:00 but asked if itwas still possible to register. They cheerfully reopened and processed Ian. (They did not know who Colette was when she asked ). Southern Hospitality was certainly the spirit of the event.

Thanks again,

Best Regards,

John Storck, Jr.
President
USODA

From the Chuck Maschal, Class Administrator; U S O D A

Have had six or seven emails already and each and every one proclaimed the regatta a fantastic success. In every email the group of volunteers (who must have taken "nice" pills they were all so kind and accommodating) was mentioned.

On behalf of the headquarters part of USODA, thanks again for all of your hard work, good work, commitment and of course, that Southern Hospitality.

Hope we can mooch off of you and the fine FBYC folks again in the future!

Sincerely,

Chuck

Noel,
I'm sure I speak for all FBYC junior parents, and all visitors to our club this weekend, in thanking you for the Herculean efforts you and your ACC team invested in making this event a class act. Having had exposure to the regatta scene all my life, I can tell you that very few are as well run as this one was. The RC work was superb, and the shore side activities were well organized and well orchestrated. You have put FBYC on the map as a player in junior sailing. Thank you!!

From a participant's parent

Thanks for all your hard work. It was a great event ! Well done. Our apologies for missing trophies. We just made our flights. Thanks again.

From John and "Scooter" Barbano, parents of a participant

Noel, It's over! You can now relax.
You did an outstanding job of running the regatta.. not an easy task and lots of stress.
Please convey my gratitude to you team for a job well done!
Best regards,

From a club member volunteer

Noel, Congratulations for pulling off a wonderful event! I have heard nothing but compliments and am proud to have been a small part. I hope it will not be too much of a letdown to have to go back to practicing law.

From a Hampton Yacht Club member

Dear Noel,

Thank you for yall's true Southern Hospitality.  The entire Yacht Club Reps. and Volunteers were terrific.

The regatta was run so smoothly and was very organized.

I know the hard work entailed and you put on a great show.

Thanks again!!

From Mike Archibald, CODA president

On behalf of the small group of Canadians (2 from Nova Sotia and 1 from Quebec) sailors and parents thank you for being such warm hosts. I would also ask you to spread the word to the Opti sailors of the Northeast to consider the 2005 Canadian Championships in Halifax Nova Scotia Aug 21-24. Nova Scotia is a short ferry ride from Bar Harbor ME. We will have a website up shortly www.opticanadians2005.com

From the MOST team, which took 4 of the top 5 overall places

The MOST team would like to express its thanks to the organizers, race committee, and support team of Fishing Bay Yacht Club. My daughter ---- returned to Illinois last evening with her mother. While their stay was short, they enjoyed their visit greatly.
Thanks.

From a parent

Thank you so much for all that you and the other members of Fishing Bay did during the regatta. You all did a wonderful job and made everyone feel welcome. That was a large number of people to keep happy! Thanks again.

From Steve Podlich

Thanks for the hospiltality.  I hope I did not add too much interruption to an already busy weekend for you and all your volunteers.  I enjoyed meeting Dave Lee again (after figuring out I’ve raced against him before).  Seeing how FBYC’s RC did the job certainly gave me a leg up on our regatta next spring.

You have a beautiful club on a unique piece of our bay.  I’ve heard good things about FBYC all my life, I wish it did not take me so long to find a reason to visit.

From Dennis Russom, a parent

Noel,
I want to thank you and all of your team for making the ACCs the great event that it was.  My son and I really had fun!
Your hospitality combined with the spectacular beauty of your area of the country made the event just great.  I would also add that it from my prospective, it looked like you enjoyed every minute.  I do not think that I ever saw you without a big smile on your face.  Smiles are contagious and you had everybody infected!!
Thanks again for everything!
Best regards
Dennis Russom

From the Entwistle family

I just wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for not only the superbly run regatta, but the most gracious hospitality from you, your army of volunteers, and the members of Fishing Bay Yacht Club.  What a great weekend!  Coming from Mystic, CT, made for a long trip with my only hope being that the weather would be good and that Timothy and Caroline would have fun on the water.  Well, the weather was great in spite of Saturday's light conditions and the kids had a ball.

Your clubhouse and grounds are wonderful and the Deltaville waterfront is a beautiful place to enjoy our sport.  A well kept secret, I suppose!  You should be very proud of yourself and the members of FBYC for organizing this event and making it a success for the sailors and their families.

If you ever find yourself cruising the New England coast, I would like to extend an open invitation to visit Ram Island Yacht Club on your way down east.  We would love to have the opportunity to reciprocate your hospitality.

Once again, thank you very much for all the work you have obviously accomplished over the past several months, and I look forward to the opportunity to see you and/or members of FBYC in other sailing events.

Best regards and smooth sailing,

Mark, Tina, Timothy and Caroline

From an attending Dad

You folks did a great job with the regatta. I know how much planning and help it takes to make an event work smoothly because I was responsible for the land operations for the Leiter Cup (womens national laser radial championship) which was held at our club this summer. Congratulations!
