If you click on any of the links along the top of the Page, like Club, Sailing, Fleets, you will now see that navigation to pages within those sections are found by taking a look at the list on the left side of each of those pages.
On the Sailing Page, the links on the left currently look like the image to the left. If you click on a different section, like Club, then the sections under Sailing will disappear, and a set of links to pages under Club will open up.
And I will be adding more links - like Members - to the left sidebar. My biggest problem is trying to decide if better names for the links Sailing, Fleets …
The glitch is fixed, at least for now. Thanks to David Hinckle, the Java Score Files for the Distance Series have been rebuilt and the results have been posted on this site. See the link, above, under "Most Recent Results".
Due to a problem within Java Score involving the old version versus the new version, the Offshore Distance Series files are being rebuilt from existing race data by Cathy Clark and David Hinckle and will be posted in the very near future. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

Shown as the second article under 2008 at http://www.fbyc.net/Sailing/Publicity are the cover and two pages of September 2008 Sailing World mentioning Deltaville and FBYC.
Included are a touching letter from my law partner Doug Garrou who rode with me on LOON as Mark Boat and who has two autistic sons, one with Leukemia. No doubt, his letter, and perhaps our success with FS NACs kept Deltaville and FBYC fresh in the editors' minds.
Also included is the editor's monthly column which mentions Deltaville as being one of the "also ran" small towns with great sailing programs, as an outtake to a major article on America's great sailing towns.
A member has volunteered to assist me in improving the navigation and usefulness of the web site. In anticipation of making some changes to how it might look, I have moved some pages around, and hence you may run across links that do not work. At this moment, missing pages, the Classified, Weather, Links, might be found under Sailing or Web Tools.
If you want a peek at the navigation that we are proposing to the Board on Thursday, please take a look at the top and left side of
http://www.fbyc.net/kristen/Club. Notice how the links to Club and Fleet change as you click from one to the other. The idea is to show the users …

Remember there is a new buoy off Stingray Point that gathers wind and weather data.

The schedule on 9/7 will be:
Registration and Check in 7:30-8:30
Skipper's Meeting 8:45
First warning at 10
Additionally we are still planning on having dinner at the clubhouse starting around 6:30pm Saturday evening. The forecast for Hanna has been holding and still appears as if the storm should be out of the area in time to sail on Sunday. In the last 24 hours the forecast has called for a slightly weaker storm to hit the coast with the possibility that it may not reach hurricane strength before making landfall.
On behalf of Fishing Bay Yacht Club I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the sailors planning on attending the Laser Masters Atlantic Coast Championship this weekend. We will be watching Tropical Storm Hanna very closely over the coming hours. The current forecast has the center of the storm going east of us and it appears to be clear enough for at least one full day of sailing on Sunday. With that in mind we are going to be optimistic that the weather will change for the better and give an even bigger window to sail in.Since this is a bit of a tough situation, we have set up an email distribution list for facilitating …
We have set up an email list specifically for diseminating information about the Laser Masters ACC this weekend. If you would like to emailed when announcements or information is sent, please visit this link to sign up.
Lost and Found at Stingray RegattaDuring the Stingray Regatta at FBYC, a man's wedding ring in 14K White Gold was found in the bathhouse floor near the trash can. Call Noel Clinard at 804 788 8594 to claim same.
What do you get when you throw a regatta and the wind doesn't blow and the caterer is MIA? Well, at FBYC, you get four good races with tight competition over two days, punctuated by warm hospitality, cold beverages and the best freshly cooked, hot meals prepared by volunteers on short (read NO) notice, you'll find anywhere.
When most race committees would have given up on Saturday when faced with hours of absolutely no wind, PRO David Lee, wind and weather guru that he is, decided to persevere and the racers were rewarded with a race on Saturday. When dinner time arrived, but the caterer didn't, a group of incredible volunteers served approximately 150 hungry sailors in …
Fellow Cruisers, our trip to the upper Chesapeake Bay is now just 2 weeks away. I want to share with you our updated itinerary and give you some information you will need to make arrangements for slips at several locations, should you choose to use them. In addition, I would like to begin getting feedback from each of you on your plans, how many people you will have on your boats, and what activities you plan to participate in. This will help us to plan group activities, dinners, cocktail parties etc.My Co-Captain Nancy has asked that each boat try to have a total of 3 hors douvres during the course of the cruise so that she can call …
The J-105 class expects to have 7 J-105s on the
starting line this weekend at Stingray. In part because Cyane and Will Crump have purchased hull
number 210 which they are renaming She Crab Soup. We are
all thrilled to have them with our fleet, and we look forward to some fun
competition in our larger fleet.

MIRAGE and CATS' PAWS Win CAPE
CHARLES CUPS, PHRF and Cruising Divisions respectively. Cape
Charles Cup organizers decided last winter to give a CC Cup to two boats in
their unique southern Bay regatta - one to the PHRF classes winner and one to
the Cruising classes winner. They figured double the fun in presenting
double the number of beautiful Weems and Plath@ lantern trophies.
And, from the sailors reactions, it's a good idea! These trophies go
to the boats with the lowest total corrected time over the two days of
racing - day one from Little Creek (Norfolk) to Cape Charles, and on day 2, from
Cape Charles to Buckroe (Hampton). This year Christian
Schaumloffel's Hobie …
There is much discussion on Scuttlebutt about whether the 49er Medal Race was fair competition, and whether the Danish duo who won the Gold should have been allowed to race a borrowed boat after breaking their mast before the start.
For those who want to watch the action here is a video of the 49er medal race:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5G3N66j_rE
Enjoy all 9 minutes, and go to Monday's Scuttlebutt to read Charley Cook's rationale for why the RC decided to hold the race in a blow. Also about why the German team deserve the medal for sportsmanship, "better an earned bronze than
a dirty silver".
Spam Problem - We are still working on our spam problem and the results are still not where we want them. For example, we learned one of our forwards was forwarding about 20 spam messages per day to a member, but because he had a good spam filter, it was not a big deal for him. But for us, it causes us to be rated as a terrible sender of spam. As suggested last month, I have now deleted all email forwards at www.fbyc.net except for a couple who have asked to keep them. Hopefully that will eliminate a major problem.
On-line Entry - minor change - In response to people inadvertently entering a quantity of items far in excess of …
Like father, like son. Back before WWII, and this started in Europemore than two years before Pearl Harbor, my father
turned to BBC to hear the play by play report of the latest Test Match, cricket, between England and Australia. With
live coverage unavailable I'm reduced to reading about Olympic sailing on my Macbook. The Star final may not have been a nailbiter like the Laser radial but in the end Ian Piercy and his crew got the requisite place ahead of the Swedes.
And in second place none other than Robert Scheidt whose second place finish behind Ben Ainslie in the 1999 World Championships in Melbourne in January of 1999 was one of the few World's where …
